Dear New co workers,

I will be joining you happy (hopefully happy) bunch on Wednesday and I am actually papping my pants!!
I have just had 3 yrs out of work after having my youngest sprog and am rip raring to go! .. but terrified too after spending my days conversing with a tot and refereeing squabbling kids I don't know how to do adults anymore please be kind to me.

The new girl xx

Dear Hubby,

Did you know I am going back to work ?? which means I can no longer be your mother and you are going to have to start and do the odd thing for yourself..you know like breathing etc..
Good luck with that and if you can cope I might even show you where the iron and hoover live so you can pull your weight a bit..haha.

much love

The boss

Dear kids,

Grandma will be collecting you big ones from school and looking after you little one all day while I work. (Yippee I get to be a real person again for 22.5 hrs per week) Please don't take the mic and use up all your good behaviour with her and only have the bad behaviour left over for when I collect you. And while we are on the subject,  no stuffing yourselves with junk while at Grandma's. Even if you fib I will know you know....I have you micro chipped and bugged!! I will see and hear everything.

Much love
Mum xx

What is with customer service nowadays??

I hope you are sitting comfortably as I feel a rant approaching at about 100 miles an hour!!....deep breath...

The other day I went to Matalan to do a bit a shopping with kids in tow (first mistake). Anyhoo after waiting in the que for a hundred years...or 10 minutes the spotty student told me the til wouldn't scan so had to........ v e r y  s l o w l  y  key in the very looooong bar code for each item. When finally done I shoved my card in the reader and entered my pin. To be told by same spotty student that the system had crashed and she would have to start again manually keying in each item even more s l o w l y.
...again I shoved in my card and was told again that the system had crashed (frig this is pissing me right off now I only wanna pay for my stuff before children in tow explode of boredom).
Spotty student went to retrieve the manager whom looked like a bull dog chewing a wasp I might add!!
Said bull dog repeated the whole process that spotty student had and with same result !!! (argh)

I suggest very calmly that they might run my stuff through a different til as this one was obviously faulty. Bull dog resented my idea but finally gave. As bull dog was sending me to the next til I asked for proof that my 4 attempts at putting my card in the machine hadn't been charged. Said bull dog barked at me that the system had crashed it had  not taken my payment.(ok very scary lady). After finally paying for my goods I started to walk away from the til but had this nagging feeling that I should not trust bull dog with my money and should get proof I hadn't pain numerous times.
I went to customer services and waited again..... nice lady listened to my story of spotty student and bull dog and called to the office for Mr greasy to assist. Mr Greasy was actually very helpful although Greasy and odd. He ran a check on the computer and told me I had actually paid a few times for my goods.
No friggin way can you imagine that if i had trusted bull dog I would have shelled out far too much cash!!!
Mr Greasy gave me a refund. (few) however when I asked him for an apology and pointed out how bull dog had spoken to me and also that if I hadn't of pushed this i would of been out of pocket. He seemed baffled that I should have a problem with them as he was giving me my over payments back!!
Bloody check. and this whole process took in excess of 30 mins while my kids drove me batty wanting to go.
Well I took Mr Greasy's name and Bull dogs and sped home in a proper strop!!...straight to my pc to email a big shouty complaint to Matalan!!.....
and guess what??? ......
Avery nice lady phoned me from Matalan appalled at my story and so extremely apologetic for my treatment!! told me my complaint is being investigated and both Mr Greasy and Bull dog will be dealt with very seriously and by way of an apology they will send me some vouchers!!! eerrmm well we shall see how really very sorry they are by the value of my voucher !! watch this space!!

Letters from Santa Claus for Kids at Christmas with the NSPCC

Letters from Santa Claus for Kids at Christmas with the NSPCC

Well yesterday was a really tough day for me.
My safeguarding children/Child protection training was up for renewal. I usually really enjoy taking part in training days...usually! This one is a really tough one for me though because it always really breaks my heart to hear of the despicable and unthinkable things some adults can do to inocent children. So when ever I  renew this training it's always particularly painful for me.

Yesterday was no exception, in fact it was probably the most heart wrenching one I have done yet!! The course was delivered my a pediatric nurse with over 20 years experience working with abused children. So you can only imagine the horrors she had encountered during her career.
After returning home to my children and looking in to their sweet inocent faces. Faces that have never and hopefully never, ever will know of the great atrocities too many children live through. I decided maybe I should do my bit to help one of the charities that work so hard to touch the lives of these poor children. The N.S.P.C.C. is the leading charity that works so hard for children's rights etc so I decided to support them.

The purpose of my post today is to ask anyone that might be reading to please take a minute to think of children that are suffering abuse and if possible donate to the N.S.P.C.C. I know times are tough on people financially and it's something I never usually ask.
Please check out the site and see if you can help...or please spread the word of the letters from Santa by the N.S.P.C.C.
Many people pay for letters like this for their children but if they use these ones at least the fee goes to a worthy cause.
Thank you  xx
